The hose connected from the check valve to AIR Diverter valve is severely burned in a secondary air injection system. The cause of this problem could be which of these:
◦ Defective AIR diverter valve
◦ Overheated catalytic converters
◦ Excessive HC emissions
◦ Defective check valve
