Answer to Question 1

The MTA Cooperative Group Study was conducted in 2007 and was an outcome-oriented research (intervention-focused) longitudinal study. Included 579 children who were diagnosed with ADHD and received some form of treatment including medication management, intensive behavioral treatment, a combined approach, and community care.
Strong support for medication management was found, as well as some additional support for a combined intervention (medication and behavioral treatment).
Differential results were found regarding treatment and specific behavior improvement (e.g., behavior treatments improved homework performance).
Also demonstrated need for early and sustained intervention
Application  early and sustained intervention; combined use of medication and behavioral treatment
