Based on qualitative research in Saskatchewan by O'Reilly and colleagues (2006 ) regarding Community Treatment Orders (CTOs):
 
  a) Patients were generally favourable but somewhat ambivalent about CTOs
  b) Clinicians disagreed with family members over the helpfulness of CTOs
  c) There were recommendations that CTOs should extend to at least three months duration
  d) The predominant diagnosis was surprisingly psychotic depression
