Ceili is in a recovery program to deal with her alcohol dependence. One of the treatments includes going to the bars where she used to drink in order to get used to being in such places without becoming intoxicated. As she enters her local pub, Ceili starts craving alcohol and she starts to experience tremors and fever. Why?

The smell of alcohol in the bar reminds Ceili of all the good times that she had while drinking, which she had forgotten, and this makes her upset.
Tremors and fever are withdrawal symptoms that occur only when the body is detoxifying from the effects of alcohol.
Craving and withdrawal are conditioned responses elicited by stimuli that have been paired with the effects of alcohol in the past.
Ceili is so frightened by being in the bar that she starts to panic.
