Answer to Question 1

Studies reveal that clinicians are more accurate if they base their conclusions on statistical instead of clinical prediction strategies. In statistical prediction, the clinician makes a judgment about someone based on data from large groups of people. Clinical prediction relies on the integration of data based on a clinician's judgment. Results of predictions based on the same patient data can lead to very different predictive outcomes when the two strategies are used.
