Answer to Question 1

There are three commonly found positive symptoms in speech: loose associations, thought blocking, and clang associations. Loose associations are thoughts that have little or no logical connection to the next thought. Thought blocking consists of unusually long pauses in the patient's speech that occur during a conversation. In clang associations, speech is governed by words that sound alike rather than words that have meaning.
