Let φ and ψ be two 1-forms on R3  say  φ= a1dx1 + a2dx2, ψ= b1dx1 + b2dx2. Show that φ∧ψ = 0 if and only if  φ = c ψ for some constant real number c.

Question 2

Let φ= a1dx1 + a2dx2 + a3 dx3 ∈Λ1(R3) and ψ= b1dx2∧dx3 + b2dx3∧dx1+ b3 dx1∧dx2 ∈Λ2(R3). If φ and ψ are identified with the vectors  u = a1 i+ a2 j+ a3 k  and  v = b1 i+ b2 j+ b3 k, respectively, and if then c is equal to
