MacGyver must escape from a deep trench with water rushing in at a rapid rate. All he can find is a roll of duct tape, a safety pin, and a pack of chewing gum. He quickly takes the duct tape, begins to unroll it, and eventually twists and turns it into a rope of sorts. He is able to throw the "rope" up and lasso an overhanging branch to pull himself out of the trench just before the water envelops him. MacGyver's thought to use the tape as a rope illustrates his ability to overcome __________.
