You are dispatched to a local school for a patient who fainted during a basketball game. Upon arrival, you find your patient sitting in the stands. The patient states he is all right now and doesn't want to go to the hospital. While documenting the refusal, someone claiming to be a school employee asks for a copy of your report and the patient's refusal. Which of the following should you do?
◦ State that you are unable to comply with the request due to patient confidentiality.
◦ Provide the documentation if the individual shows proper identification.
◦ Ask the patient if it is all right with him if you provide the individual with a copy of the patient care report.
◦ Get permission from medical direction to release the documentation.
