A nurse working as a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) in a hospital is aware of a greater risk for being sued for malpractice than that of the staff nurses' co-workers. What rationale would the CNS give for this difference?
◦ "I have greater autonomy in my work."
◦ "Since I make more money, I am a better litigation target."
◦ "I assume greater legal liability because of my specialty credentials."
◦ "The patients I work with are sicker and more likely to develop treatment related complications."
