Looking at the primary self-report instruments used to measure mindfulness, Baer, Smith, Hopkins, Krietemeyer, and Toney (2006) found that three factors emerged when using the statistical procedure called a factor analysis (see Chapter 6) that best predicted psychological symptoms. These are (1) act with awareness, (2) nonjudge, and (3) nonreact.
