 Daryl Bem has suggested an explanation for homosexuality based on the ideas that
 children have predilections for certain kinds of play when they are young, and end up playing mostly with boys or mostly with girls as a result
 as adolescents, they see the less-known gender as different and anxiety-provoking
 they later relabel that anxiety as sexual attraction
 While this theory is highly provocative, and while competing theories are lacking, it does not (yet) have strong empirical support, and thus remains speculative.
