Answer to Question 1

c

Answer to Question 2

Whereas cognitive dissonance theory posits a state of psychological tension that people
are motivated to reduce by bringing their attitudes more in line with their behaviors, (1)
self-perception theory suggests that people interpret their attitudes by observing their
behaviors and that physiological arousal is not necessary for self-persuasion to occur,
(2) impression-management theory maintains that what matters is not the consistency
between attitudes and behaviors but the appearance of such consistency, and (3) selfaffirmation theory proposes that attitude change is spurred by threats to the selfconcept.

Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.
