Kendras best friend moved away in the middle of 3rd grade. Explain, using Denham et al.s (2011) model of emotional regulation how she might cope with the emotions stirred by the departure of her friend, referring to emotional coping, behavioral coping and cognitive coping.

Emotional coping involves relabeling or reappraising their emotions.
For example, she might be sad that her friend left, but console herself that her friend will maintain contact and that they will see each other again.
Cognitive coping involves manipulating attention or other cognitive processes to reduce the impact of the event.
She might focus on something in her life that distracts her in order not to think about her missing friend.
Behavioral coping involves avoiding behavior that reminds oneself of the upsetting event, so she can put away photos of her friend, or not visit places where she and her friend played.

Answer to Question 2

Children improve their understanding of other peoples thoughts and behavior.
Thinking of other people in terms of psychological traits
Improving their understanding of other peoples perspectives
Children begin to develop social stereotypes around concepts such as race and ethnicity.
