Answer to Question 1

Emotional coping involves relabeling or reappraising their emotions.
For example, she might be sad that her friend left, but console herself that her friend will maintain contact and that they will see each other again.
Cognitive coping involves manipulating attention or other cognitive processes to reduce the impact of the event.
She might focus on something in her life that distracts her in order not to think about her missing friend.
Behavioral coping involves avoiding behavior that reminds oneself of the upsetting event, so she can put away photos of her friend, or not visit places where she and her friend played.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.
