Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
Glucagon is produced by the alpha cells of the pancreas. Amylin and insulin are secreted by the beta cells. Somatostatin is produced by the delta cells.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
Insulin facilitates the intracellular transport of potassium (K+), phosphate, and magnesium. Insu-lin does not facilitate the intracellular transport of sodium, chloride, calcium, hydrogen, or bicar-bonate.
