Answer to Question 1

Answer: Among Americans aged 15 to 24, the leading causes of death are unintentional injuries, homicide, and suicide. Stress, depression, anxiety, alcohol and tobacco use, and sexual health compromises are common health concerns faced by college students.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Physical determinants are physical conditions in the environment. Examples include:
Aspects of the natural environment, such as plants, weather, or climate change
Aspects of the so-called built environment, which includes all buildings, spaces, and products that are made or modified by people, such as homes, schools, factories, roads, subway systems, parks, and the tools, equipment, and objects within them
Presence or absence of toxic substances and other physical hazards
For example, heat waves, floods, earthquakes, blizzards, and other natural hazards are aspects of the physical environment that influence health. Pollutants in the air, soil, and water are largely invisible, but can significantly increase disease rates.
