You should look for evidence of former landslides, such as scarps, open fissures, displaced or tilted
objects, and sudden changes in vegetation

Methods include: installing subsurface drainage, diversion of surface waters, reducing the slope by
cut-and-fill or benching, constructing retaining walls, and planting vegetation.
