Answer to Question 1

improper collimation

Rationale: The image fails to include the entire calcaneus in the collimated light field. The entire calcaneus should be included on the AP oblique with medial rotation. In fact, this position will demonstrate the calcaneus as well as the talus shifts off the top of the calcaneus.

Answer to Question 2

AP with neutral rotation with transthoracic lateral

Rationale: The trauma shoulder routine requires a minimum of two views 90 degrees from one another. Try to leave the affected part in a neutral or as is position. A trauma shoulder would acquire an AP neutral shoulder and either a transthoracic lateral or scapular Y view.
