Answer to Question 1

Wetlands are swamps, ponds, and other places where water often stands. Wetlands are
important for the following reasons:
 Provide habitat for wildlife
 Aesthetic and recreational purposes
 Flood control
 Improvements in water quality
 Shoreline erosion control

Answer to Question 2

Wildlife refers to plant and animal organisms that live in the wild and rely on natural
food and habitat to survive. Improper use of pesticides and/or fertilizers exposes
wildlife to pesticide dangers, which in turn offsets the delicate balance in nature and
causes major environmental concerns.
