  • Free rhythm is musical rhythm without meter.

  • Gregorian Chant, iambic pentameter in Shakespeare's plays or Sister, Hold Your Chastity. (Chapter 5).

 Metrical rhythm (meter) is a pattern of regular recurrencefor example, the recurring accents in soldiers' marching rhythm (HUP-two-three-four, HUP-two-three-four, HUP-two-three-four).
