 The Arabian Nights, e.g., Aladdin and the Magic Lamp
 Western art music masterpieces inspired by the so-called Orient.
 American pop music of the 1920s and 30s with songs like Sheik of Araby
 Motion pictures such as Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia, and (the animated) Aladdin
 Popular imagination of this vast area is also fueled by current events and news reports about the Middle East.
