Answer to Question 1

Soft bland foods if it will help tolerance. Basically, try to give the patient what he likes while meeting the needs described in questions 2, 3, 4, and 5 . If anorexia and/or diarrhea persist, a tube feeding may be necessary.

Answer to Question 2

vincristine sulfate (Vincasar PFS): constipation, cramps, ileus that mimics surgical abdomen, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, stomatitis, weight loss, and dysphagia.

zidovudine (Retrovir): none listed.
