Assume you are the owner of a small restaurant, and only you and some of your close family members prepare the food. Do you think standardized recipes would be necessary for your operation? Why or why not?

What is one objective of a progressive discipline program?
 
  a. Provide incentives for employees to work harder.
  b. Reduce the need for employee retraining programs.
  c. Reduce situations that result in involuntary terminations.
  d. Eliminate those employees who do not improve quickly.

Answer to Question 1

Standard recipes are required for properties of all size including small mom & pop operations. While they may be more simplified, basic information about ingredients and exact quantities along with portion sizes would be helpful to anyone to help out, for example, when a family member was ill or away on vacation.
