Answer to Question 1

A wide variety of on-premise selling opportunities are available to managers of beverage establishments. These alternatives include exterior signage, interior signage, and table tents. If available and used sparingly, an in-house sound system can be an effective selling tool. Menus and service staff recommendations also may influence sales. An operation's atmosphere and its special promotional activities are additional on-premise components that directly impact sales. Finally, beverage suppliers can be an excellent source of on-premise selling tools such as table tents and signs. Just as important, suppliers can provide managers with valuable selling advice based on their knowledge of new products and consumer buying trends.
