Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

When larger-than-necessary quantities are purchased, money is unavailable for other purposes and cash flow is affected. Also, buyers are less flexible, must have more space to store products, and risk the possibility of theft and pilferage.

Other concerns relate to quality deterioration, increased chance of damage, and excessive handling costs. When products are purchased in inadequate quantities, it may not be possible to meet production requirements because of stockouts. Additionally, customers may be disappointed and production plans may need revision.
