Answer to Question 1

ANS: Students may compare the MyPlate icon to other countries' food guidance systems and see that they look very different. Korea has a tiered pagoda. Canada's food guide is in the shape of a rainbow, while those of Great Britain and Portugal are circles. Although the food guides may take different shapes, they all recommend a plant-based diet with modest amounts of animal products. The different countries have foods represented that are available locally, but overall the nutrition messages are the same around the world.

Answer to Question 2
