Answer to Question 1

False

Answer to Question 2

In the Atkins diet, consumption of high-fat meats, cheeses, and fats is encouraged and consumption of carbohydrates (such as fruit, breads, and cereals) is severely limited. The premise of the Atkins diet is that elimination of these foods will produce a benign dietary ketoacidosis, which leads to decreased hunger and slows excessive food consumption.
