Answer to Question 1

Answer: Students should discuss: the effects of gender roles on when each gender decides to ask for help; how individual help seeking tends to drop around the age of 7 or 8 and then again around age 60; and how people higher in self-esteem may be reluctant to ask for help in situations where obtaining help might threaten a competent self-image.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Students should briefly describe the murder and then describe/discuss the bystander effect and diffusion of responsibility.
