Answer: Blasts: high N:C ratio; large cell; open chromatin pattern with prominent nucleoli; scanty basophilic cytoplasm
Activated lymphocyte: Low N:C ratio; large, but may be variable sized cell; more clumped chromatin and oval-shaped nucleus; abundant cytoplasm with basophilic rim; kiss other cells producing a scalloped cell shape

Answer: Polyclonal antibodies are in a group of heterogeneous antibodies with multiple antigenic specificities. Monoclonal antibodies have a single specificity. Multiple myeloma generates monoclonal antibodies; infectious mononucleosis generates polyclonal antibodies.
