This client was foreign-born, a risk factor for tuberculosis (TB), and has the classic symptoms of tuberculosis. The nurse plans frequent respiratory assessments, as this child is at risk for pneumothorax. Patients with TB are not at particular risk for pneumonia, renal failure, or septicemia.
