Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 3

Stating that the alarm will sound when the client gets out of bed indicates an appropriate understanding of the bed alarm. The client should never be instructed on how to remove the equipment without assistance. The client will not experience an electric shock when getting out of bed. The alarm is not secured tightly against the client's inner thigh as this could lead to decreased circulation.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 2

The goniometer is a handheld instrument that measures the arc or range of motion of a joint. An audiometer measures hearing, a voltmeter measures electricity, and a measuring tape and compass would be difficult, if not impossible, to use to accurately measure joint mobility.
