(5) Always thank the person answering the phone for transferring your call, taking a message, or providing information. (6) Ask if you may follow up the telephone call by presenting the company or client with your resume and/or filling out an employment application. (7) Always thank the listener for his or her time. (8) When receiving telephone calls, always answer in a courteous and professional tone.
