Answer to Question 1

Modern researchers have confirmed the benefits of music for a wide range of clinical applications. As recent studies have shown, music therapy: prevents stress-induced increases in cortisol, heart rate, and blood pressure; aids in post-surgery recovery; improves mood, memory, and cognitive function in people with Alzheimer's and their caregivers; reduces anxiety and stress in hospitalized children; relieves pain in patients with fibromyalgia; bolsters immune functioning; enhances memory and learning; boosts exercise/sports motivation and performance; hastens the recovery and return to their jobs of workers on disability.

Answer to Question 2

Art therapy, which emerged as a mental health discipline in the mid-20th century, integrates art and creativity into counseling and psychotherapy for the purpose of healing. It has been used to help individuals of all ages with physical, mental, or emotional problems. As an alternative healing opportunity for those who may not respond fully to conventional treatments such as psychotherapy, art therapy can help individuals explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.
