Answer to Question 1

A
Cells are unable to store large quantities of carbohydrates. The liver converts excess galactose and fructose into glucose and stores it in the form of glycogen. Insulin aids in the diffusion of glucose into the liver and muscle cells and in the synthesis of glycogen.

Answer to Question 2

B
The nursing diagnosis is the second step in the nursing process. The first is assessment; the third is outcome identification and planning; and the fourth is implementation.
