B. Observe client for shortness of breath, pain in the chest or shoulder within 31 to 48 hours after insertion of cathetersymptoms indicate delayed complication of pneumothorax.
A. Client is shaky, dizzy, nervous, anxious, senses hunger, and blood sugar level less than 80 mg/100 ml are signs of hypoglycemia.
C and D. Symptoms of systemic infection are isolation of same microorganism from blood culture and catheter segment, with client showing fever, chills, malaise, elevated white blood cell count.
