Answer to Question 1

In addition to the precautions explained earlier for power tools in general, the following precautions should be observed when using hydraulic power tools: 1) the fluid used in the tools must be approved under Schedule 30 of the U.S. Bureau of Mines, 2) the fluid must be fire-resistant and it must retain its operating characteristics at the most extreme temperatures to which it will be exposed, and 3) manufacturer's specifications for safe operating pressures must not be exceeded (this applies to hoses, valves, pipes, fittings, and filters).

Answer to Question 2

Don't lean a ladder against a fragile, slippery, or unstable surface.
Don't lean too far to either side while working (stop and move the ladder)
Don't rig a makeshift ladder; use the real thing.
Don't allow your waist to go any higher than the last rung when reaching upward on a ladder.
Don't carry tools in your hands while climbing a ladder.
Don't place a ladder on a box, table, or bench to make it reach higher.
