Answer to Question 1

In industrial production of gluten, a slurry of wheat flour is kneaded vigorously by machinery until the gluten agglomerates into a mass. This mass is collected by centrifugation, then transported through several stages where the water is removed and eventually the product is dried. The starch industry extracts and refines starches from seeds, roots and tubers, by wet grinding, washing, sieving and drying.

Answer to Question 2

Gluten can be found in some makeup, vitamins, supplements, medications and pet foods.
