Wt = 70 kg x 1.5 = 105 g protein/day. The factor will vary with each case.

Answer to Question 2

Potassium given by I.V. burns the patient, has to be given very slowly, and requires an I.V. access. Frequently the physician will give it by feeding tube instead.
