Answer to Question 1

This is a nasogastric tube placed in the stomach and connected to low suction for the purpose of evacuating the stomach. The suction is very low but strong enough to prevent a fluid build-up in the stomach.

nitroglycerin: nausea, vomiting; adverse reactions include orthostatic hypotension

phenobarbital (Barbita): nausea, vomiting; adverse reactions include drowsiness, lethargy, hangover

morphine sulfate: nausea, vomiting, constipation, ileus; adverse reactions include respiratory depression.
