Answer to Question 1

C
Feedback:
Recommended amounts range from 1.2 g/kg to more than 2.0 g/kg, or 20 to 25 of total calories, depending on the client's weight and type of critical illness. There is little evidence to support or refute any of the methods used in determining protein requirements.

Answer to Question 2

1
Rationale: Lactose is used as filler in some medications and causes adverse side effects in clients with lactose intolerance. Medications should be taken as directed with or without food or at bedtime since recommendations are based on receiving the greatest benefit from the drugs.
