Answer to Question 1

3
Rationale: The Food Pyramid recommends a range of 59 servings of fruits and vegetables/day, whereas the Fruit and VeggiesMore Masters Program recommends 413 servings/day. There are no recommendations for reduction of fat, protein, or carbohydrates.

Answer to Question 2

D
Kwashiorkor is usually caused by inadequate protein intake with adequate energy intake. Intake of incomplete protein sources could contribute to inadequate protein intake, but does not address the adequate energy intake found in kwashiorkor. Excessive intakes of protein and fluid would not cause malnutrition. Inadequate intakes of protein and energy cause marasmus.

The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
