(1)Reduce the amount of regrind (as a percentage) that is used during processing. This assures that the heat history of the total material will never become large, thus reducing the likelihood that degradation from accumulated thermal processing will occur. (2) Add thermal stabilizersmaterial s that preferentially accept the heat and, therefore, reduce the amount of heat encountered by the polymer. (3) Add processing aidsmaterials that facilitate processing, generally by allowing the processing to occur at lower temperatures. Hence, the total amount of thermal energy added to the system is reduced.
