One way to deal with childrens behaviors is to understand developmental stages. This is important because
  a. all two-, three-, four-, and five-year-olds follow a specific set of behaviors unique to their age and it is important to understand these.
  b. an understanding of what children of a given age generally are and are not able to do allows the teacher to set realistic expectations accordingly.
  c. the teacher can then set expectations for each age group, according to developmental norms, which all children will have to meet before their next birthday.
