One way to deal with childrens behaviors is to understand developmental stages. This is important because
  a. all two-, three-, four-, and five-year-olds follow a specific set of behaviors unique to their age and it is important to understand these.
  b. an understanding of what children of a given age generally are and are not able to do allows the teacher to set realistic expectations accordingly.
