Answer to Question 1

No very well, because it was found that we are falling short of meeting our daily dietary needs. A great majority of the population needs improvement in their diets, whereas some have poor diets. Only a small percentage of the population has good diets.

Answer to Question 2

Basic nutrition occurs as a result of the metabolic and physiological responses of the body to diet. Nutrients are substances found in foods that provide for the growth, development, maintenance, and repair of the body. These nutrients are extracted from foods in a process called metabolism whereby chemical changes take place as nutrients are taken into the blood, processed and absorbed by the body, and eliminated from the body.
