Answer: Students should focus on how the presence of others might decrease the likelihood that we would help because we see those others as potential sources of help and, as a result, we feel less responsible (diffusion of responsibility).

Answer: Possible interactions include: genetic similarity and need; gender and helping behavior; deciding to help friends; gender, age, and self-esteem and seeking help; and the related notions of gourmets and gourmands.
