Answer to Question 1

Remote grandparents are emotionally distant, and are respected, honored, and
obeyed by their grandchildren. Companionate grandparents enjoy entertaining and
spoiling their grandchildren without worry of disciplining them. Involved grandparents
interact with their grandchildren nearly daily, playing a very active role in their lives.
The student's vision of the perfect grandparent will vary.

Answer to Question 2

Answers will vary but may include the emotional well-being of the proposed
caregiver, whether the elderly person has dementia, financial concerns, and social
support for the caregiver.
