Answer to Question 1

Adolescents may see many possibilities for themselves. Some recognize that they can, to a large extent, fashion themselves according to their own images of what they are capable of becoming. They see a wealth of possibilities. This capacity to look ahead, to fashion futures may lead to utopian thinking, in which they have an ideal vision of society. What if thinking enables adolescents to fashion schemes for social justice and ending poverty, hunger, and disease.
