Behaviorists believe that the mechanisms for learning are universal across cultures. However, social learning theorists have given the sociocultural context more emphasis by pointing out that technological advances in communications have expanded the opportunity for people to experience other cultures, and therefore expanded the opportunity for observational learning to occur.
